When I first became plant based and tried make it as easy of a transition as possible I looked for creative and fun dishes for the kids. Cauliflower Wings seemed to be a crowd favorite. Anything that taste remotely like chicken to children is always a win. I tried making the cauliflower wings two ways. One way was with a store bought seasoning packet & the other way was old school with a batter made from scratch. Both ways are detailed below.

Things You’ll Need|

1 Head of Cauliflower

Louisiana Fried Chicken Mix

Vegetable Oil (any oil you use to fry)

Level Of Difficulty- Very Low

1 tsp Garlic Salt

1 tsp Season All

1 Packet Goya Sazon (optional)

Red Chili Flakes (optional)

Level of Difficulty- Low Medium
  • Cut up cauliflower into “wing” like pieces. We like them bite size.
  • Mix water & dry ingredients together to create a paste consistency.
  • Start heating oil of your choice in a pan, once oil is hot start dipping cauliflower in mixture.
  • Fry until golden brown flipping every 5 minutes or until its crispy.

If you make the batter thick you won’t have to worry about it falling off in the pan.

These heat up well I had them the next day with a side salad and loved them even more! To reheat I recommend heating them up in the oven on 375 to get them crispy.

xo, Taja.
